Infinity Scarf

Tonight, I finally finished the Infinity Scarf that I started during my time off after my knee surgery in May.

Tom and I both think that it turned out quite nicely, and I can't wait until cooler weather so I can wear it.

Josh's Baby Blanket

During my convalescence (aka taking time off from work due to my knee), I was able to complete some crocheting, and the biggest project was the baby shower gift for Josh.

We're having a shower for Josh at work on Thursday, and I was under a time crunch finishing this gift, because I had to order the yarn, and it just came in earlier this week.
I like how this blanket turned out, even though it's not complete by what the pattern says. The blanket isn't as big as the pattern says, and I couldn't finish the blanket with two rows of the same color, even though I ordered/bought the required amount of yarn. Regardless, I love the feel of the blanket. It's made with Bernat's Baby Blanket and it feels so soft, like a stuffed animal.

Oops, I Did It Again

So, here's the story:
Wednesday, at band practice, while we were marching, I felt a weird popping sensation behind my good knee. Immediately, I couldn't put any weight on the leg, so I hobbled off of the field. The medics said that I couldn't go to the game on Thursday, and that I should get an MRI. Thursday was spent trying to get an MRI. Getting the insurance approval, and then scheduled for the actual MRI, took all day. Friday, I'd heard back from the doctor - I've torn the meniscus in this knee, too. It's weird though, I've been able to put more weight on the leg every day, and I was able to hobble around without the help of crutches today. Hopefully, I'll be feeling good enough to work tomorrow and Sunday.

More Earrings

Last night, the earrings went over so well, that I just had to make a bunch more today!

I made a pretty decent variety, focusing mainly on the Natty Boh earrings. I even mounted the earrings on a business card, to make them easier to display.

Beer Bottle Cap Earrings

I've been saving beer bottle caps for a while now, initially for an "Eye Spy" photo, but after seeing something on Pinterest a few days ago, I've decided to use them for earrings for the craft show in November.

These were relatively easy to make. What I made today are for a few people at work. I hope they like them.

Peach Cobbler

Tonight, I made Peach Cobbler with some peaches that Mel got for me from the Sale Barn.

Peach Cobbler

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cup self-rising flour
  • 8 tablespoon (1 stick) butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cup sugar, divided
  • 4 cup peeled, sliced peaches
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • ground cinnamon, optional
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine the peaches, 1 cup sugar, and water in a saucepan and mix well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat.
  3. Put the butter in a 3-quart baking dish and place in oven to melt.
  4. Mix remaining 1 cup sugar, flour, and milk slowly to prevent clumping. Pour mixture over melted butter. Do not stir. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Sprinkle top with ground cinnamon, if using. Batter will rise to top during baking. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
  5. To serve, scoop onto a plate and serve with your choice of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
I brought the cobbler in to work at the Tidewater, and it went over quite well. Everyone loved it. I was even able to save a piece for Tom, and he liked it, too.

Wine Cork Keychains

Back on July 4th, I made a few wine cork keychains.

Tonight, I sat down and made some more.

I'm planning on participating in a local craft show in November, and I want to include these in my booth. They're pretty easy to make, and are turning out nicer than I expected.
