Look What Tom Found

A cute little baby bunny.

Tom's been bitching like crazy about the rabbits in our yard, eating his plants. This one is so cute, he couldn't complain about it. Currently, it's about the same size as a full grown mouse.

Accomplishments

Being laid up from my recent surgery has been fairly relaxing. My intention with my recovery time has been to catch up on crafts, and to work on some inventory for a possible Arts and Crafts Show at the local high school in November. So far, in addition to reading a book, I finished the following projects.

I started, and finished Baby Jack's fedora (seen modeled by Pooh Bear), I completed a replacement 12x12 granny square for a swap I joined on Swap-bot, and I completed a Frilly Crochet Scarf. I feel such a sense of accomplishment!

Outpatient Surgery, Complete

I actually had a decent experience with my arthroscopic surgery.

Everything went smoothly, and I walked out of the hospital pain free. Will it last?

Baby Jack's Fedora Prototype

Evan, Brit's fiancee, asked me to crochet their baby-to-be a fedora. This is what I came up with as a prototype.

I found a pattern for a child's sunhat off of the LionBrand website, and modified it to be the correct size (I hope). It is not the desired color, but it'll do until it's approved.

And the MRI Says...

It says that I have a torn medial meniscus. Luckily, the doctor that I've been seeing for this injury had a cancellation for Wednesday, so he's going to squeeze me in for outpatient surgery. I can't wait to start having my knee back to normal.

Getting Paid?

Our first band rehearsal of the season brought some interesting news, we are going to start getting paid for the time we put into band. Rehearsals, performances, Pep Band gigs - it's crazy. I'm not sure how I feel about it, though. On one hand, it'll pay for gas, but on the other hand, we have to be professional (not that I didn't try to be anyway). For the past twelve years, I've been doing it because I love it, but now it feels different. I'm sure I'll get over it, but right now...
