My Swap is Full!

You can't believe how excited I am that my swap has reached the 20 participant limit! It's my first time hosting, and with Wanda's help, I hope to be a good hostess. Wanda and I are coming up with ideas for extra goodies to send with the completed tag books, and I have some ambitious ideas for the tag book itself. I only say that the ideas are ambitious because of my work schedule and time constraints. I can't wait to see what all of the talented ladies that have joined, do with the countries that they've chosen - I've seen some of their work, and feel honored that they've decided to join my swap. If I could insert a picture of me, stomping my feet, clapping my hands, and smiling with glee, here, I would. Anyway, that's enough for now. Good night!

Package from Leta

I received my package today from Leta for the May Day Tussie Mussie Swap. It's wonderful, see for yourself...

Cone Filled with Chocolates, Magnets, and Sanitizing Soap

A Jar of Gummi Candy

A Set of Candles in Various Scents

A "Purse" with an Initialed Mirror and Charm Bracelet

Paper Flowers, Rub-Ons, and Rhinestones

Leta felted the cone, and I think it's adorable. The rest of the items are also wonderful, and I can't wait to use them all - the candies will be a particular hardship to bear :-)

Dinner at Martina's

Tonight, I joined Brenda and Bill at Martina and Marty's for dinner. Brenda and Martina used to work at the Tidewater with me. I haven't seen any of them in a long time, and we'd been promising to get together since October, but it's never happened. I can't believe what a good time I had. The food and wine were good, but the company was even better. I'm so glad we were able to get together.

May Day Tussie Mussie Swap

Today was the deadline to send out my package for the May Day Tussie Mussie Swap, and I barely made it. I'm pleased to say that I put together a package that I would be pleased to receive, and I hope that Leta enjoys it, too. I'm really happy with the cone and floral bouquet I sent.

I threw in a necklace for her birth month that I put together.

I also sent her a couple candles in her favorite scents, a journal, and a bag of Starbucks whole bean coffee. Hopefully, some things that she'll really enjoy.

This Is SO Hilarious

Tonight, at Tidewater, Mel showed me this video that someone sent to her phone. I think it's too hilarious to keep to myself. If you're easily offended, please don't hit the play button.

Project Pillow Swap

I've joined a new swap, the Project Pillow Swap. It's kind of secret partner swap, and should be lots of fun. I hope I have enough time to do a good job on it.

I Can't Wait!

You may not know this about me, but I'm a fan of Stephenie Meyer. I just learned today, and stop reading if this is old news to you, that she will be putting out a novella called "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner." It compliments "Eclipse," and would be too cool to read, especially since "Midnight Sun" hasn't been completed.

I can't wait until June 7, when it will be released - I might actually have to read this one, I listened to the Twilight series and "The Host" on audiobooks.

Finishing Up the Nancy Drew Swap

So, here's what I sent Olenka for the 2nd Annual Nancy Drew Swap. I think it's a lot of fun stuff, and I really hope she enjoys it. First off, "The Message in the Hollow Oak" (at least this version) takes place in Canada, so I sent her some Canada Mints.

I used the book to make a Book Purse, and filled it with Bit O Honey's.

Since I had cut the book apart to make the purse, I used some of the pages, and some artificial fall leaves, to make an Altered Composition Book.

The pages also went into covering a cone, to which I added a ribbon and bow with a fun oak leaf print. Inside, I put a bag of gummi worms, which go with the outdoorsy theme of the book.

I took an old wooden book/box, painted it, and added the first page of the book and an illustration.

I filled it with some Puckerooms (sour gummi mushrooms) and these clip-on earrings, which look like oak leaves.

I had a lot of fun putting it all together.

Rapunzel Scarf and Book Purse

After work this evening, I started working on my Rapunzel Scarf. Since Easter is tomorrow, I thought it's be nice to wear it to work. I love how it turned out, but I didn't realize that braiding 10 feet of yarn and ribbon could get so tangled up.

I then went to work on my Book Purse for the 2nd Annual Nancy Drew Swap. It went amazingly well for my first time, and I'm pretty pleased with the results.

Thank You, Olenka

Olenka was my partner in the 2nd Annual Nancy Drew Swap, and I received a package of goodies from her today.

She is so clever - each wrapped package came with a tag with a "clue" on it.

Perfect for those quick runs

Yumminess. Even Nancy Drew needed to stop for a snack

Just a refresher course

Something to carry all your sleuthing needs

And my personal favorite (Olenka's a scrapbooker) - When your out of ideas thought this collection can help you

Thank you, so much, Olenka, for such a fun swap package!
