Band Piece

Over the course of the last year, the band has had a couple of visits from Barry Levinson and his crew. He was going to make a documentary about the flight of the Baltimore Colts, and has decided to include the band in the piece. I believe that it will be called either "And the Band Marched On" or "The Band that Wouldn't Die." It will air in October on ESPN for their "30 for 30" series of programming, which is a series of one-hour documentaries on a broad range of sports topics. What's cool here, is that originally, the piece was slated in the 20's, but aparently, it was so good that it's now slated as number 2. We also learned at band practice, that it's going to be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival! The Levinson group even invited the band to attend the screening! Unfortunately, we had to turn down the invitation - it coincides with our first regular season game. As with the invitation to perform in China after how well we did at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade a few years ago, it's just an honor to have been invited.
